Starting December 1, 2022, and running through February 28, 2023, Pipestone National Monument Visitor Center’s normal winter hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sundays and Mondays. The Visitor Center will also be closed Thursday, November 24, 2022, for Thanksgiving Day.
The Circle Trail is always open for anyone wishing to spend time enjoying a walk. The winter season offers many photographic opportunities of the prairie and wildlife. During this quiet time of the year, walking the Circle Trail with family and friends can be particularly enjoyable and peaceful. Please be cautious, as the trail can become icy and slippery.
Beginning in January, the trail will not be cleared of snow. Visitors are welcome to bring their own snowshoes or check out a pair for free from the Visitor Center during open hours.
