Pipestone National Monument Night Sky Viewing
Pipestone, MN: Come see your park after dark and view the night sky with Augustana University’s Dr. Nathan Grau. Pipestone National Monument is hosting a night sky event on Saturday, April 27, at 8:30 p.m. on the grassy area in front of the visitor center.
Dr. Nathan Grau will bring his special brand of enthusiasm for the night sky with a short explanation of what will be seen and set up two tracking telescopes. Visitors will be allowed to look through the telescopes, ask questions, and view the cosmos up close!
The event starts at 8:30 p.m. and runs until 10:00 p.m. so that everyone has a chance to look through the telescopes, but visitors are not required to stay for the duration. Feel free to bring lawn chairs to stargaze with us if you like. There will also be free hot cider and snacks while supplies last.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, the date will be rescheduled for May 4th. Updates will be provided on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PipestoneNPS/
Directions are available through this link: https://www.nps.gov/pipe/planyourvisit/directions.htm
