High school students: apply for a summer job at pipestone national monument
Pipestone, MN: Help conserve the environment, gain valuable job experience, and have fun working with Pipestone National Monument’s Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) crew this summer. The YCC program provides an opportunity for 15-18 year olds to do conservation work and learn about the Monument’s natural and cultural heritage.
Participants will spend most of their time working in the outdoors and will assist with exotic species control, scientific monitoring and study, and grounds and facility upkeep. The crew will be supervised by Monument staff and provided all necessary training and equipment to have a safe, fun, and productive summer.
"For me, working for the Youth Conservation Corps has helped me figure out what I actually want to do with my life,” says Gabrielle Drapeau, who served on the 2017 YCC crew. “I enjoyed preserving the land and working around the environment. Not only was it enjoyable, it was very educational. Working there was a great first job.”
The eight-week program is scheduled to run from June 10 through August 2, 2019. Participants will work a 40-hour week at the rate of $9.86 per hour. All interested area youth 15-18 years old, who are permanent residents of the United States, are eligible to apply. No prior experience is necessary. We’re looking for youth who want to work hard, learn, and be part of a team.
