Teacher-Ranger-Teacher OpportunityWhat is “Teacher-Ranger-Teacher”?: TRT is a professional development opportunity for K-12 teachers to partner with the National Park Service and the University of Colorado Denver to gain new skills in experiential learning and to learn about career pathways for educators in the NPS, all while enhancing Petroglyph National Monument’s education program.Duration: 6 weeks. Cohort #1- June 12- July 20. Cohort #2- July 10 and August 27 Compensation: $3000 upon program completion, including coursework Graduate Credit: 3 graduate credit hours through the University of Colorado Denver Hourly Program Requirements: Total of 240 hours of effort; 160 hours of major educational project, 45 hours of online coursework, discussion, course readings, 30 hours of NPS operational experiences. Who can apply: Current K-12 teachers (including student teachers) 2023 Season Project: The selected applicant will work with NPS staff to update the monument’s “Travelling Trunk” education kits to have engaging lesson plans aligned with current NM state education standards.
