PETERSBURG, Va — Beginning on Friday, June 7th, 2024, Petersburg National Battlefield will reopen the Appomattox Plantation House, part of Grant’s Headquarters at City Point (1001 Pecan Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia 23860) and the Five Forks Visitor Center (9840 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23842). The hours of operation will be 10 am to 4 pm (except for 30 minutes to allow for a lunch break at noon) Friday through Monday until further notice. Park Rangers will be available on site to provide information and highlight the powerful history of these places.
Access to all park trails and grounds remain open and accessible to the public daily from sunrise to sunset. The Eastern Front Visitor Center is open each day from 9 am to 5 pm. Entrance to all areas of the park is always free.
