Honolulu – World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument will resume partial operations at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center on Monday, August 27th, following the closure due to Hurricane Lane.  Full operations will resume on Monday for our Pearl Harbor Historic Sites partners, including the Battleship Missouri Memorial, the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park, and the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor.

Staff will conduct a post-storm assessment of homes and visitor facilities this afternoon and will clean and prepare the visitor center facilities tomorrow. On Monday, we will re-open the parking lots at 6:00am and the visitor center grounds at the normal time, 7:00am. Visitors with tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial will be able to view the 25-minute documentary in the theaters, but due to recovery time for the US Navy white boat operations, tours across the harbor to view the USS Arizona Memorial will not recommence until Tuesday.

The reservation system via www.recreation.gov will also be back in operation, and visitors will be able to make reservations for Monday on Sunday.

Updates will be posted on our website at www.nps.gov/valr and on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ValorNPS.
