Pecos NHP to Debut BARK Ranger Program

Pecos, NM: Bring along your canine friends and join Pecos National Pecos National Historical Park staff and volunteers for the launch of the BARK Ranger Program between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on July 7th at the E.E. Fogelson Visitor Center. Come learn about the park’s pet friendly trails and earn a free Pecos NHP BARK Ranger tag by agreeing to the BARK Ranger code;Bag pet waste; Always make sure the pet is leashed; Respect wildlife; Know where your pet can go.
 
Pet owners are encouraged to take their leashed dogs on the 1.25 mile Ancestral Sites Trail and/or the 2.25 mile Civil War Battlefield Trail rather than leave them behind in a hot car. After your adventure, stop by the Western National Parks Association bookstore and check our new selection of locally made peanut butter dog treats.

From I-25 N: Take the Pecos/Glorieta Exit, #299. Left onto overpass, right onto Route 50; proceed on Route 50 for eight miles. At the village of Pecos, take a right at the four-way stop onto Route 63. In two miles, the park will be on your right. From I-25 S: Take the Rowe Exit, #307. Follow signs. From Highway 63, the park will be on your left.
