Pecos, NM:– Beginning March 9, 2017, Pecos National Historical Park will be offering fishing permits for interested anglers along the Pecos River. The 2017 spring fishing season will run from March 9 through April 17.
Within the park, three miles of the Pecos River are divided into three sections or "beats." This approach offers anglers roughly one mile on the Pecos River to fish with up to two other people for the day. Two beats (for up to six anglers per day) are available on a reservation system; one beat (for up to three anglers per day) is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, a special permit along with a $25 per day fee is required for each angler. Only credit card payments will be accepted.
Pecos National Historical Park will begin taking reservations on February 27, 2017. Call the dedicated phone line at (505) 757-7272. Please leave your name, the number of people that will fish (up to 3 per one-mile beat), the date you would like to fish, and contact information including the name and phone number for each person on the reservation. Remember the park is closed to fishing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Reservations are accepted in the order they are received. You will get a confirmation by phone from the fishing permit ranger within a reasonable time.
