NOTICE OF 30-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
Extended public comment period open February 2-11, 2019. However, due to technical difficulties, the PEPC site may not be available until February 4th. You can submit comments once PEPC is available. The press release announcing these additional dates is pasted in below this original release. 


Tassi Ranch Site Management Plan Environmental Assessment
Please be advised that an Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared (PEPC-79750/ DOI-BLM-AZ-A030-2018-0006) for the proposed Tassi Ranch Site Management Plan.  This EA is a public document, and it is available for your review and comment.

The project area is located at Tassi Springs, Mojave County, Arizona.  The Proposed Action includes implementing the recommended actions from the Cultural Landscape Report (CLR), maintaining viable habitat for the special status riparian and aquatic species in the project area, and providing sustainable visitor use.  Components of the Proposed Action include stabilization and rehabilitation of historic structures, vegetation management, installation of scientific monitoring equipment, and modification to visitor infrastructure. Under the No Action Alternative, no management actions would be taken beyond those described in previously approved projects.  The EA is available for a 30-day public comment period ending on close of business (4:30 pm, Mountain Standard Time) on Monday, December 31, 2018.  Extended comment period from February 2nd until 4:30 pm Mountain Standard Time February 11, 2019.

How to Comment
A copy of the EA is available on the NPS’s NEPA Register PEPC site. The PEPC system will come back online by February 2nd, 8 am MST. Click on the following link: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/TassiRanchSiteManagementPlanEA.  To electronically submit comments, click on the “Open For Comment” icon on the lower left portion of the website and fill in the form. Comments may also be submitted during the comment period and mailed to the above physical address or faxed to 435-688-3388 or via email at blm_az_asdo_comments@blm.gov.  Please include “Tassi Ranch SMP” in the subject line. If desired, a hardcopy of the EA may be obtained by contacting Jennifer Fox during business hours (7:45 am to 4:30 pm, MST) at 435-688-3376 or via the above email address.

By law, the names and addresses of those commenting are available for public review during regular business hours.  Before including your address, phone number, e-mail address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available at any time.  While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so. All comments from organizations or businesses will be available for public inspection in their entirety.

NOTICE OF 10-DAY EXTENSION OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

An Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared (PEPC-79750/ DOI-BLM-AZ-A030-2018-0006) for the proposed Tassi Ranch Site Management Plan.  The public comment period has been extended 10 days (February 2-February 11, 2019) due to requests from the public. The comment period extension will end close of business (4:30 pm, Mountain DST) on Monday, February 11, 2019.

This federal interagency office is staffed by employees from the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S National Forest Service, and by dedicated volunteers from the local community. Phones are answered Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The visitor center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and all federal holidays.
