AJO, AZ –Celebrate the National Park Service's 100th anniversary and "Find Your Park" at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument during National Park Week, April 16 through 24.Entrance fees will be waived all week, comeand enjoy one of the many hiking trails or take a scenic drive. Visitors can earn their "I Hike for Health" pin by completing 5 miles of trails.
"During National Park Week, and throughout the centennial year, we invite everyone from near and far to come to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument National Park and experience all that we have to offer "invites Superintendent Brent Range.
The first day of National Park Week, April 16, is also Junior Ranger Day. Park Rangers from the monument will be at the Farmer's Market in the Ajo Plaza starting at 9 am. A kid's animal track activity will teach about the animals that live in the Sonoran Desert. The participants will be able to create animal track casts to bring home. The entire family can have fun learning about the sun and viewing it up-close through a special solarscope in the morning. The fun will continue from noon to 4 pm at the mine overlook for a unique look at the moon during the day.
National Park Week is a great opportunity to explore the countless ways there are to #FindYourPark.
