The National Park Service is requesting public assistance to identify one individual believed to have been in the vicinity of Yaki picnic area, where a burglary occurred involving five vehicles, on March 2, 2020, between the hours of 2-3 p.m.
The break-ins occurred at the Yaki picnic area located along Highway 64, known as East Rim Drive, within Grand Canyon National Park. During this incident, a small blunt object was used to break windows of vehicles and items were stolen from inside the passenger compartments.
The person of interest was recorded on a video camera in Flagstaff, Arizona shortly before 5 p.m. on March 2, using one of the stolen debit cards. The person of interest is described as a black male described as approximately 20-30 years old and was last seen wearing a black ‘Champion’ sweatshirt.
