What are checkpoints, stage points, and Display Day?

Checkpoint
A short stop. Teams arrive at the Checkpoint, serve the required time (usually 45 minutes), and then leave from the Checkpoint to continue on the route.

Stage Point
A longer, overnight stop. All teams arrive at a Stage Point on one day, stay overnight, and then start the next stage together the following morning.

Display Day
The day before the start of the American Solar Challenge when the public will be able to see the solar cars on display, talk with the teams, learn about the Oregon Traill, and more. This year, Display Day and the start line of the ASC will be in Independence, Missouri.
