Explore, Learn, and Protect: Activities at Oregon Caves

At Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve, there’s something for everyone, especially you, our most valuable natural resource! Whether you're an adventurer, a young explorer, or someone with a passion for nature, there are plenty of exciting activities to engage in while visiting the park.

1. Explore the Underground World

Step into a world beneath the surface, where shimmering speleothems (cave deposits) create a stunning landscape. Marvel at the stalactites, which hang tight to the cave ceilings, and stalagmites, which stand proudly on the floor and might someday meet the ceiling! This fascinating underground adventure offers a unique glimpse into the geological processes that have shaped the cave for thousands of years.

2. Earn a Junior Ranger Badge

Get involved with one of the park’s most fun and rewarding programs: the Junior Ranger program. Through this activity, young visitors (and the young-at-heart) can learn about the importance of preserving natural and cultural resources. Upon completing the program, you’ll earn a Junior Ranger badge and share the responsibilities of protecting Oregon Caves and its surrounding environment.

3. Participate in Park Ranger Programs

Curious about the ancient fossils found within the caves? Want to know how certain trees depend on fire to survive? Join one of the Park Ranger Programs and learn more about the mysteries and stories of Oregon Caves. Engage with knowledgeable rangers who offer insights on the unique history, geology, and biology of the Monument, making your visit an even more enriching experience.

Oregon Caves is waiting for you to discover, learn, and protect—your adventure starts here!
