![]() Join us on Saturday, October 11, as the Obed Wild and Scenic River presents a ranger program about three famous people who once visited the Obed. Both legend and evidence combine to show that Andrew Jackson, John Muir, and Daniel Boone each trekked across the environs of Morgan County and what is now the Obed Wild and Scenic River. A park ranger will present information on each of their visits, and will focus on primary source writings and journal entries from centuries past. Also being discussed will be the historical significance of their visits from that era's point of view. This free program begins at 1:00 p.m. (ET) inside the Obed Visitor Center, located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg. No reservations are necessary. The program should conclude by 2:00 p.m. For more information, please contact the Obed Wild and Scenic River at (423) 346-6294. |
