WARTBURG, Tennessee: The Obed Wild and Scenic River will be having a River History Program on Saturday, September 29th. The theme of this Ranger program involves a river's progression through time and history.Rivers throughout early America provided the main arteries of travel for native tribes and early pioneers.We will discuss their methods of travel as we take a short walk along the old Nemo Bridge. We will also discuss the dangers of river travel, floods, and innovations which have improved river travel throughout time. Popular culture of rivers in music and television will also be addressed. This free one-hour program will begin at 2 p.m. (EST) at the Nemo picnic area bulletin board.
