Obed Wild and Scenic River will celebrate National Public Lands Day by teaming up with the East Tennessee Climbers Coalition (ETCC) to host the 17th annual Adopt-a-Crag event at the park on Saturday, September 10. Volunteers are needed to help with several projects such as general trail maintenance and litter pickup.

Please meet at Del and Marte’s Campground at 950 Ridge Road, Lancing, Tennessee, at 9:00 a.m. (ET) to register and receive a project assignment.

Due to limited parking, carpooling is suggested. Once on Ridge Road, follow signs to the parking area for the event located off of Doc Howard Road. Please bring your own lunch and water. Volunteers are also encouraged to bring hand tools, gloves, and insect repellant.

After completing the park projects, volunteers are invited to spend the day climbing their favorite routes or enjoying other recreational opportunities in the park. The ETCC will be a hosting a dinner, games and announcements at Del and Marte’s Campground at 6:30 p.m.

For more information regarding this event, please contact Obed Visitor Center at (423) 346-6294.
