Obed Wild and Scenic River is pleased to announce that it will be conducting a new pilot program for adaptive climbing on October 28, 2023. The pilot program will be geared towards people with an amputation or limb difference. The goal is to improve accessibility to climbing for visitors with mobility challenges.

“Our goal with this new type of climbing program will be to improve accessibility for visitors with mobility challenges and to serve as a bridge connecting them to more outdoor adventures,” said Superintendent Niki Stephanie Nicholas.

For the initial pilot program, the group size will be limited to 10 participants and pre-registration is required. If you are interested in attending this free pilot program, please call the visitor center at 423-346-6294 to register.

This program is being made possible using grant funds from the National Park Foundation’s Park Ventures Program with the support of Paradox Sports a non-profit provider of adaptive climbing programs.
