WARTBURG, Tennessee:To celebrate National Public Lands Day, the Obed Wild and Scenic River will be teaming up with the East Tennessee Climbers Coalition (ETCC) and the Nature Conservancy to host the 13th annual Adopt-a-Crag event at the park on Saturday, September 8th.From 10 a.m.(EDT) until 2 p.m., interested volunteers will help to treat hemlock trees to protect them from Hemlock Woolly Adelgid.Other projects include trail maintenance and litter pickup.Please meet at Del and Marte's campground at 950 Ridge Road, Lancing, Tennessee, to receive your project assignment.Please be sure to bring your own bag lunch, and also bring your own insect repellent.

 After the work is completed, volunteers are encouraged to spend time enjoying the park.At 6:30 p.m., the East Tennessee Climbers Coalition will be hosting dinner, games and announcements at Del and Marte's.Due to limited parking, carpooling is suggested.Once on Ridge Road, follow signs to the parking area for the event, located off of Doc Howard Road.
