Obed Wild and Scenic River will be celebrating the 97th birthday of the National Park Service on Sunday, August 25th by authorizing free camping at Rock Creek Campground for the night. Rock Creek Campground is located right on the Obed River and offers 11 spots for campers on a first come/first serve basis. The campground has grills and primitive toilet facilities.

Founders Day commemorates the signing of the Organic Act in 1916 which established the National Park Service. There are over 400 park locations to explore and see the variety of heritage and landscapes that have been preserved due to this law.
