This week marks the 257th anniversary of Alexander Hamilton's birthday. To commemorate the occasion, the National Park Service is holding a birthday celebration at Hamilton Grange National Memorial from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. It is free and open to the public. During the three-hour event, visitors can explore the historic home, learn about the life and works of this intriguing Founding Father, and talk to a living historian portraying Hamilton. "General Hamilton" will talk with visitors, answering their questions and posing for photographs in addition to sharing "his" experiences and contributions to the creation of the America we know today. No reservations are required for the event. The bookstore, exhibit gallery and media space are all open, however guests should be aware that access to the historically furnished floor is restricted to 15 people at a time. Due to the restriction, some waiting times to visit that floor may be experienced. Guided and self-guided tours will be available throughout the day.
