Rocky Beaver Fire Trail and Camp Closures in Effect

Park officials have closed a portion of the Little Beaver Trail from Little Beaver Boat Camp to the junction of Big Beaver Trail due to the Rocky Beaver Fire. Perry Creek Camp is closed; Little Beaver Boat Camp remains open. Backcountry travelers can access Whatcom Pass from the east via the Big Beaver Trail and the portion of the Little Beaver Trail west of the junction with the Big Beaver Trail.

Detected on Wednesday after numerous thunderstorms swept through the area, the fire is located in the Little Beaver drainage within North Cascades National Park Service Complex. The fire is approximately 200 acres in size. Firefighters will monitor the fire via aircraft due to difficult access in steep terrain.

There are multiple small fires in the park and smoke is visible along State Route 20 and from Ross Lake.
