Sedro Woolley, WA – Ross Lake National Recreation Area, a unit of North Cascades National Park Service (NPS) Complex, has issued a prospectus for a concession contract business opportunity. The Concessioner will operate lodging, boat rentals, marine fuel sales, and other visitor services in the park.

The NPS issued the prospectus on September 20, 2022. Any proposal, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the NPS Regional Office by 12:00 pm PST on January 23, 2023, to be evaluated and considered for award of the concession contract.

The NPS will hold a one-day site visit at Ross Lake National Recreation Area on October 7, 2022.

The resort, in existence since 1950, aptly describes itself as a secluded floating resort with a primary emphasis on fishing. The cabins are situated in a line of twelve individual and three bunkhouse units built on log floats. The facilities are located on the west side of Ross Lake, just north of Ross Dam about three hours from Seattle, Washington. It is the only concession facility within Ross Lake National Recreation Area and, like much of North Cascades National Park Service Complex, it is characterized by its remoteness with no direct road access. The operating season is from mid-June through October. The resort is not open to guests from November to May.

The prospectus is available at National Park Service Concessions. Any questions regarding this business opportunity must be sent in writing via email by October 17, 2022 to Sue Eibeck, sue_eibeck@nps.gov
