Sedro Woolley, WA -The National Park Service has selected WF Goodfellow Adventures, Inc. to operate visitor services in Ross Lake National Recreation Area under a 10-year concession contract. The operation of existing lodging, boat rentals, and other visitor services at Ross Lake Resort will transition to a new concession contract on January 1, 2024. The transition is not expected to impact the visiting public.
Ross Lake Resort provides a significant portion of the services visitors seek at the park and is critical to providing a positive visitor experience. The new contract was awarded through a competitive selection process. NPS released the solicitation for Ross Lake Resort concession contract bids in September 2022. The contract was awarded to the incumbent concessioner, WF Goodfellow Adventures, Inc. and the NPS regional director made the final decision.
The resort, in existence since 1950, aptly describes itself as a secluded floating resort with a primary emphasis on fishing. The resort is comprised of cabins that are situated in a line of twelve individual and three bunkhouse units built on log floats. The facilities are located on the west side of Ross Lake, just north of Ross Dam about three hours from Seattle. It is the only concession facility within Ross Lake National Recreation Area and, like much of North Cascades National Park Service Complex, it is characterized by its remoteness with no direct road access. The operating season is from mid-June through October. The resort is not open to guests from November to May.
