Park officials have closed trail, camps, and areas in North Cascades National Park Service Complex due to the Blue Lake Fire burning near State Route 20 milepost 160, approximately 30 miles west of Winthrop on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. There is no access to North Cascades National Park and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area from the Bridge Creek trailhead or via Blue Lake, Maple Pass, or Twisp Pass. There are no reroutes for the Pacific Crest Trail at this time.
The following trails are closed:
• Bridge Creek (PCT) from NPS boundary near Bridge Creek Trailhead south to junction with the McAlester Lake Trail
• Stiletto Spur
• Stiletto Peak
• Twisp Pass
The following camps are closed:
• Dagger Lake
• Dagger Lake Stock
The following areas are closed:
• Stiletto Cross-country Zone
• Hock Cross-country Zone
Visitors should be aware of fire restrictions in all areas of the park complex. Campfires or the ignition of wood, briquettes, or any fuel in fire pits, fire pans, and barbeque grills, are banned in in all portions of North Cascades National Park Service Complex – North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. This includes all National Park Service lands and campgrounds along State Route 20 as well as Hozomeen and the entire Stehekin Valley. If you see smoke or flames dial 911 or report to a park visitor or information center. Contact the Wilderness Information Center for trail information at noca_wilderness@nps.gov.
