Ninety Six National Historic Site to Cancel Autumn Candlelight Tour

NINETY SIX, SC –Ninety Six National Historic Site has cancelled the Autumn Candlelight Tour. The event was scheduled for the evening of Saturday, October 22, 2016.

In order provide a safe and quality program for the public this event requires the coordination of a significant number of volunteers and reenactors.Due to lack of participant responses and conflicts in reenactment schedules, park management determined canceling the event was necessary. In addition to this press release staff will begin contacting ticket holders and post the cancelation on the park website and social media. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for those who planned to attend.

Despite the Candlelight Tour cancelation the park still plans to host the "Ninety Six: Key to Victory through Engineering" from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 22.This program will highlight the role engineering played during the siege on Star Fort, using 18th century methods and reproduction equipment. In case of inclement weather the Key to Victory program may be rescheduled at a later date.
