Want to be a park ranger for a day; April 20th is your chance. In celebration of National Park Week, Earth Day and Junior Ranger Day, Nez Perce National Historical Park is throwing all of their eggs in to one basket and hosting an egg hunt in the Spalding Picnic Area. Park rangers hope you’ll join the fun on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 1:00-3:30 p.m.
Park rangers need your kids help to find these hidden eggs. Each egg has information about the animals that lay them and live in the area. Kids who help find these special eggs will become a Junior Ranger and earn an Official Jr. Ranger Badge along with other goodies!
This event is for families looking to explore their local national park. Children of all ages are welcome. There will be coloring, games, and even a chance to set up a Tipi with a Ranger. We encourage families to pack a picnic basket to enjoy the Spalding Picnic Area before the festivities.
The Spalding visitor center is 12 miles east of Lewiston at 39063 U.S. Highway 95. Summer hours begin April 1 and run until the day before Labor Day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Park Admission is free year round. For more information, please contact Nez Perce National Historical Park at 208-843-7009, or visit www.nps.gov/nepe or www.facebook.com/DiscoverNezPerceNationalHistoricalPark.
