Natural Bridges and Hovenweep national monuments remain open all year, but the monuments’ visitor center and campground operations will change this fall. Beginning September 18, 2016, visitor centers at both park units will open at 9 am and close at 5 pm daily. From October 16, 2016 through April 15, 2017, the Hovenweep and Natural Bridges visitor centers will be open Thursdays through Mondays. The visitor centers will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. The visitor centers are also closed on Thanksgiving, December 25, and January 1. Visitor centers return to a seven-day operation the week of April 16, 2017. Daily hours of operation will remain 9 am to 5 pm. Visitors can access roads, overlooks, and trails when the visitor centers are closed. Trails at Hovenweep close at sunset, so please plan your visit accordingly. Campgrounds at both monuments also remain open to campers year-round, weather permitting. Camping fees are waived from November 1, 2016, to February 28, 2017. Length of stay limits continue to apply. From April 15 through October 15 each year, campers are limited to seven consecutive days. From October 16 through April 14, campers are limited to 14 consecutive days. Please call the Natural Bridges National Monument visitor center (435-692-1234) or the Hovenweep National Monument visitor center (970-562-4282) with questions.
