Superintendent Cheryl Schreier has announced the summer schedule for Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
May 13, 2012, marked the start of summer hours for the Memorial’s Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center and the Information Center. The centers are now open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The evening program and lighting ceremony is offered at 9:00 p.m. from May 13 to August 11 and then at 8:00 p.m. from August 12 through September 30. Special ranger-led interpretive programs began May 13 and daily scheduled interpretive programs will begin on Saturday, May 29.
The historic Sculptor’s Studio will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from May 13 to May 26 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from May 27 through September 5. The Audio Tour building will be open beginning May 29 through September 30 from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm, prior to that date the audio tour is available at the Information Center sales area.
Presidential Parking Inc. will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from May 13 to August 11.
The hours for the Xanterra Dining Room and Gift Shop will be as follows:
