Covid-19 Status

Mount Rushmore National Memorial is closely monitoring and will adjust signage according to community transmissions levels and masking requirements. Additional details are available below and at www.nps.gov/coronavirus.

Community transmission levels are currently LOW in Pennington County, therefore masks are OPTIONAL inside federal facilities.

You can help protect yourself and others from COVID-19 by:

  • Practice physical distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet (2 m) of distance between you and others.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  • If you feel sick, please do not visit the park.

Through the front windshield of a car, snow, fog, and ice are shown covering a rural road. A motorcycle on the road is obscured by fog, and two road signs warn drivers about slippery roads and reduced visibility.
