KEYSTONE, SD: According to the 2013 FamilyFun Travel Awards, Mount Rushmore National Memorial ranks as the top tourist attraction. The awards will be announced in the April issue of FamilyFun magazine. Mount Rushmore also ranked number five in the top ten overall favorite family destinations. FamilyFun magazine awards are based on a survey of 2,000 families with children 3 to 12 years of age. Moms rated the 360 destinations for family friendly vacations. Six vacation categories were ranked: Tourist Attractions; Tourist Towns; Nature Escapes; Museums, Zoos & Aquariums; and Family Resorts as well as an Overall Top Ten. Nine of the top ten overall favorite family destinations are National Park Sites. |
