Montezuma Well is in need of volunteers to help with our traditional garden and historic pasture area to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy. Verde Valley residents will be joined by hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the country as part of the 25th annual MLK Day of Service.
Join us at 10:00am on Monday, January 20th at Montezuma Well’s picnic area for a few hours to spread woodchips on the trail and prepare our traditional garden for spring planting. Warm beverages and light snacks will be provided.
The MLK Day of Service encourages all Americans to improve communities through volunteer service. 2020 will mark the 25th celebration of the annual service event since Congress designated the MLK holiday the first ever National Day of Service and charged Corporation for National and Community Service with leading this effort. With an emphasis on creating opportunity for all, Americans of all ages and backgrounds in all 50 states will re-commit themselves as citizens by volunteering in service to one another.
In addition, all National Parks will be fee free for you to enjoy your public lands.
