Montezuma Well Sunday Bird Walks Ending for Season

Rimrock, AZ. Sunday, April 22, will be the season's last guided bird walk at the Montezuma Well unit of Montezuma Castle National Monument. Montezuma Well is located 11 miles north of Montezuma Castle, at 5525 East Beaver Creek Road in Rimrock, Arizona.

Ranger John Lewis guides bird walks each Sunday during the winter at 9:00 a.m., weather permitting. Visitors are invited to join him at the picnic area and help identify birds around the site, while John interprets different species and their roles in the local environment.

There is no entry fee at the Montezuma Well location, and the program is free. Participants should bring water and binoculars, if they have them, and wear clothing and footwear appropriate for an easy to moderate hike. Programs last approximately one hour. Visitors may call the Montezuma Castle Visitor Center at (928) 567-3322 ext. 221 for more information.
