MONTEZUMA CASTLE AND TUZIGOOT NATIONAL MONUMENTS ANNOUNCE ENTRANCE FEE-FREE DAYS FOR 2019

“We are very excited to provide the public opportunities to visit us on our fee free days, as well as throughout the year, and hope everyone takes advantage of these days,” says Dorothy FireCloud, Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments Superintendent.
 
As of January 1st, 2019, Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monument will normally charge $15 per adult 16 and older. Admission covers both monuments for 7 days. Children 15 and younger are always free. Western National Parks Association will offer a 15% discount on all items in the park stores during fee free days, and is tax free every day.
 
In addition to entrance fees being waived, the following events will occur:

January 21st- Day of Service. Join us at Montezuma Well as we get our traditional use garden ready for spring planting. Work includes pulling weeds, tilling the soil, etc. Please wear sturdy shoes and sun protection.  Gloves and tools are provided, as well as warm beverages and snacks.
April 20th – Junior Ranger Day activities at Tuzigoot National Monument and Native American music concert at Montezuma Castle at 6pm
August 25th – Birthday celebration at noon at both monuments
September 28th – Volunteer event for Montezuma Well garden
November 11th – Veterans Day Event
 
Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments are two of 115 national parks that has an entrance fee. The other 303 national parks do not charge an entrance fee. The National Park System includes more than 85 million acres and is comprised of 418 sites, including national parks, national historical parks, national monuments, national recreation areas, national battlefields, and national seashores. 
Last year, 331 million people visited national parks spending $18.2 billion which supported 306,000 jobs across the country and had a $35.8 billion impact on the U.S. economy.
 
An annual park pass for Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments costs $45 and allows unlimited entrance to both monuments for four adults. The annual $80 America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass allows unlimited entrance to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including all national parks. There are also free or discounted passes available for senior citizens, current members of the military, families of fourth grade students, and disabled citizens.
