For years, Beaver Creek has been a beautiful location to have a picnic or afternoon tea. In the 19th century military members and their wives would visit Montezuma Castle as a way of escaping the daily life of military service. In honor of Arizona's 117th birthday, we invite the public to join us for an historic afternoon tea celebration in partnership with Fort Verde State Park on Thursday, February 14th, 2019. Visitors will be able to experience living history with rangers from both Montezuma Castle and Fort Verde in period dress serving tea and discussing daily affairs of the 19th century. Take a step back into history and experience what the soldiers first saw when they rediscovered and named Montezuma Castle.
Tea will be served from 11am to 12pm at the Montezuma Castle picnic area and from 1pm to 2pm at Fort Verde State Park.
