Montezuma Castle will celebrate out favorite flying mammals by hosting a bat informational program from 10:00am to 4:00pm on October 29th and 30th.  Come by and learn about these amazing creatures and how they play a vital role in our high desert ecosystem.  Informational posters, bat surveying equipment, and wildlife videos will be on display on the trail.  You can even walk away with your own bat mask!  This program is included with the price of regular admission to the monument.  We also accept all federal land interagency passes.

This celebration is in coordination with government agencies and conservation groups from across the Untied States and Canada.  Bat week is celebrated every year during the last week of October.  To find more information about other events, conservation efforts, and youth programs, visit www.batweek.org.

The National Park Service celebrates its 100th Anniversary in 2016. Over 20,000 National Park Service employees care for America's 408 national parks and monuments and create close-to-home recreational and cultural opportunities.
