Diet

Bobcats mostly eat rabbits, hares, and small rodents like squirrels and mice. They also hunt small deer, snakes, and lizards. They can even leap high enough to catch low-flying birds.

Fun Facts

  • Bobcats can run up to 30 miles per hour.
  • They get their name from their tail, which is only 5 inches long.
  • Bobcats only eat 3 pounds of meat at a time, so if they manage to catch a larger animal, they will drag it to a safe spot, cover it up, and return later to feed again.
