Minute Man National Historical Park commemorates the opening battles of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775 by caring for the structures and battlefields that evoke the landscape of the past. Over the last four years, the park has developed a comprehensive strategy to bring the park’s buildings and landscapes into good condition in time for the 250th anniversary in 2025. The work includes rehabilitating 29 structures and ten landscapes, as well as monuments, park signage and 6 miles of trails and several historic buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Six 20th-century peripheral farm outbuildings that have passed their useful life will be demolished, allowing the park to focus on its historically significant resources.National Park Service has consulted with the Massachusetts Historic Commission and other interested parties on the development of a Programmatic Agreement in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The entire park is a National Historic District. This agreement sets out a process the park will follow to avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse effects to historic buildings, landscapes, archeological sites, and monuments that may result from the planned work. The public is invited to read and comment on the draft agreement. The comment period will run from August 20 through September 19, 2021.You can find more information and comment on the draft agreement at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/MIMA250thProjects or send comments via mail to:SuperintendentMinute Man National Historical ParkATTN: 250th PA174 Liberty StreetConcord, MA 01742
