On Saturday, July 6th, over 100 naturalists from throughout New England and beyond will join the public at The Great Walden Bioblitz, an event organized by the Walden Woods Project, Minute Man National Historical Park, the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation and Concord naturalist Peter Alden. The main purpose is to celebrate all visible life forms. 2,700 species of animals, plants and fungi were found within 5 miles or so of Walden Pond during past bioblitzes.
The Bioblitz will bring together educators, scientists, naturalists, and the public to encourage outdoor exploration and enhance understanding of biodiversity.

Volunteers can participate at 2:00 p.m. for field excursions with scientists beginning from Hartwell Tavern parking lot at Minute Man National Historical Park (Route 2A/Lincoln, MA)
