With the enactment of the continuing resolution, staff at Mesa Verde National Park plan to reopen on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. During the shutdown, several large rock falls occurred on the main park road between mile markers 2 and 3, causing damage to the road and guardrail. Repairing the road damage and replacing the guardrail, along with substantial snow removal, are necessary to ensure visitor and staff safety prior to the park reopening. The Visitor and Research Center, located at the entrance of the park, will also reopen on February 4 at 8:30 a.m. Please revisit this website or www.facebook.com/mesaverdenps for updated information about the park.
We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding during the shutdown, and the extended closure of the park. We are grateful for the support of the Mesa Verde Museum Association, Aramark, and the Mesa Verde Foundation. Additionally, the support and kindness of the local community helped brighten our days. Thank you.
Mesa Verde’s employees are happy to be back at work, serving the American people and welcoming visitors to their national parks.
