Operating Hours & Seasons

The Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site is now open Tuesday through Saturday, from 9am to 4:30pm. Daily historic house tours are available BY RESERVATION ONLY at 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. (Check out Things To Do to learn how to make a reservation). The park store and indoor interpretive displays are accessible to the public, with limited capacity in accordance with CDC safe distancing guidelines. Masks are not required for fully vaccinated visitors; unvaccinated visitors are required to wear masks. Park rangers will also be stationed outside of the visitor center to assist you with information and answer your questions. We’ll see you there!

The site is open Noon to 5:00 pm on Martin Luther King Jr. Day each year. The site is closed Sundays and Mondays, as well as Thanksgiving, December 25th and January 1st.

Walker's house sat squarely in the center of “Quality Row,” a residential block of African American lawyers, doctors, ministers, and bankers in Jim Crow Richmond’s Jackson Ward.
