Maggie L. Walker National Historical Site invites children of elementary school-age to participate in its new summer activity “Make-it and Take-it Thursdays.” After viewing a short film on the life of Maggie L. Walker, each participant will use copies of Walker’s family photos and scrapbook, modern newspapers, stickers, and other craft materials to create a colorful, unique scrapbook. This ranger-guided, hands-on activity is a fun way to learn about the life of Maggie L. Walker and her remarkable contributions. The summer activity is free of charge and occurs every Thursday 10:00-11:00 through August 30. Organized groups of 20 or less and families are welcome. Reservations are required. Call 804-771-2017 ext. 23 for more information. |
