Interact with virtual tours of Manhattan Project facilities at Hanford, Washington. Hanford was the site of plutonium production during the Manhattan Project. The plutonium produced at Hanford was used to fuel the Gadget, the world’s first nuclear test device, and Fat Man, the implosion-type atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan on August 9, 1945.
