We would like to thank everyone at the National Park for the opportunity to be able to visit and also learn information on our topics. When our Spanish class went to MBRNHP, after seeing the short film we were able to go on a Spanish tour around the area and mansion. It was incredibly helpful to get a glance at everything hands on and it gave us a huge variety of topics to choose from right from the start. MBRNHP was very accommodating to us by making the tour all in Spanish. Once we all chose our topics it was easy to start working independently due to the information given the first day. We were given so many opportunities to learn not only from binders and books, but also actual interviews. A group was able to talk to Laura French, which was such a great experience to be able to talk to someone who is not only a family member but also lived in the house. Another group was able to go into the fallout shelter, where they received a lot of information on their chosen topic as well. Walking around the mansion, and talking to people impacted the experience in such a positive way, rather than simply reading books we are able to get first hand information. We are so excited about the final projects and also being able to learn all the amazing history that MBRNHP has to offer.
Thank you again to everyone at MBRNHP and particularly Marie Hanson our coordinator!
