Hi, my name is Celia Graham and I have grown up in the woody hills of Pomfret, Vermont. I serve as a George Perkins Marsh Intern and thus, am able to experience working with many of the departments throughout this park.
It has been the time that I have spent wandering through the trails here, as well as my interest in the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller story that led me to this position.
One of my fondest memories was tracing a single spot on Upper Meadow Road throughout each season for a sixth grade project. This project allowed me to find a specific spot as my “power spot”. For me, it gave me the comfort of a safe haven but also gave me ample time to reflect, ponder, and ultimately connect with nature.
These memories and connections, made within this special place, have pushed me outdoors. It is this same connection with nature that brings visitors back each weekend, season, or year. This connection was embedded within Marsh, Billings, and Rockefeller and ultimately led them to find happiness in maintaining and sustaining such a beautiful place.
Though I will only be here for a short time, I know that my love for exploration and adventure will continue and will instill the ideals of stewardship and conservation in me, as I find myself in a journey through a myriad of places.
