Explorations

This past week I missed ⅖ days to attend my orientation for the fall. Although I missed some valuable events,  I learned a lot and feel more prepared to start the school year. Upon my return,I had to catch up on the notes the other interns took and what they accomplished during my leave. Thus far, we have discussed potential activities for the youth summit that we are planning such as having guest speakers from the park to discuss Man and Nature, playing our intern-made movie, playing games, eating food, and creating the overarching theme for the whole event (we are currently thinking of a birthday theme featuring passages from books and cake for lunch). In addition to planning, I was privileged to work at Saint-Gaudens this week polishing beautiful bronze pieces. The annual cleansing process is quite extensive, apparently. After watching the film and working around the grounds, I had the opportunity to explore the house, the artist studio, and the atrium leisurely. There is an atmosphere of peace there that I wish to imitate at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Overall, this week was rather exploratory. I wonder what events will occur next!
