Change

I am no longer the student who goes to MBRNHP with her classtwice a year to hike, learn and attempt to understand what the park service is all about. Growing up with a National Park nearby offered many perks, most of which I never appreciated. As a child I didn't fully understand the mission and purpose of the park.  In just a couple of days interning at MBRNHP I have come to appreciate the park service in many respects and whole heartedly support the mission of Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.

The park carries so much history through the artifacts, mansion and land. The gardens, buildings and acres of forests have been maintained due to the previous owners having excessive compassion for the environment. They lead their lives as stewards and inspired others to do the same. They believed in conservation and showed others how to carry out similar values. I am excited to continue this internship and eventually effect change just as the families had.
