Stonewall, Texas – Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park is offering additional programming to visitors from March 9 through March 24 at the LBJ Ranch unit. Spring Break at the LBJ Ranch 2019 will offer park visitors the opportunity to further explore and discover the park’s historic resources and delve deeper into the story of the 36th president and the LBJ Ranch.

Visitors can join park rangers and volunteers to learn about the important role aviation and the US Secret Service played at the ranch, become more familiar with Johnson’s environmental and education legacy, explore some of the natural features of the park, talk with the park’s curatorial staff about historic preservation, and much more. The park is very excited to bring this unique opportunity back for a fifth consecutive year. Over 2,000 visitors have attended programs during Spring Break at the LBJ Ranch in previous years.

Programs will be offered free of charge at locations throughout the LBJ Ranch, including the reconstructed birthplace, the hangar visitor center, and around the grounds of the Texas White House complex. Programs will run 20 to 30 minutes in length and will be scheduled at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm each day from March 9 through March 24. In addition to scheduled programs, a Junior Ranger station will be open each day for children and students to make buttons and earn their Junior Ranger badges. For the complete schedule visit www.nps.gov/lyjo or www.facebook.com/LBJohnsonNPS.

Tours of the Texas White House grounds will continue to be offered each day from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm. Tours are free. At this time, the Texas White House remains closed due to structural concerns.

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park is open seven days a week from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. For more information on park activities call 830-868-7128, ext. 231 or 244, and visit www.nps.gov/lyjo and www.facebook.com/LBJohnsonNPS.
