Beginning Friday, May 27, the Longfellow House will also inaugurate a new changing exhibit gallery. The opening exhibit, "The Longfellow Family in the Civil War," offers visitors a close look at collections that trace the Longfellow family's connections to the US Civil War. The exhibit gallery will be open each Friday to Monday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Beginning Sunday, June 5, the Longfellow House will also resume the Summer Festival. Presented in partnership with the Friends of the Longfellow House-Washington’s Headquarters, New England Poetry Club, and Berklee College of Music, this free weekly festival brings music, poetry, and community to the Longfellow House grounds on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm.
Over the next year, the Longfellow House will celebrate its 50th anniversary as a national historic site through the arts, scholarship, stewardship, and community.
