In order to incorporate the tenets of Universal Design as recommended by the National Center on Accessibility, Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial will be implementing some changes to the park’s cultural landscape that will replace the trail surface of the two parallel trails from the visitor center parking area to the gravesite of Nancy Hanks Lincoln and will add sloped trails around the stairs near the flagpole. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 16 and will result in temporary restricted access to certain areas of the park. The south side of the Memorial Visitor Center parking lot will remain open and visitors will be able to access the memorial courtyard area, but the north side of the parking lot will be closed as will the construction area between the lot and the pioneer cemetery. Visitors will be able to access the living historical farm and the parks north trails from C300e and the north parking lot. Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is located off of Indiana Highway 162 in Lincoln City, Indiana. For more information, please call the park at 812-937-4541.
