To celebrate National Park Week, which kicks off Saturday, April 17, as well as getting ready for Junior Ranger Day April 24, Lewis and Clark National Historical Park has seven days of Junior Ranger options for you!
Starting Saturday, you can come by the Fort Clatsop Visitor Center and pick up a special Junior Ranger Book created by a National Park Service office. There are limited numbers of books, which are targeted to youth.
We’ll put out a different one each day. Here’s the rangering you can do this week!
· Saturday, April 17 Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail
· Sunday, April 18 Junior Ranger Night Explorer (ages 5-12)
· Monday, April 19 Junior Ranger Sounds Explorer
· Tuesday, April 20 Railroad Explorer
· Wednesday, April 21 Spaceflight Explorer
· Thursday, April 22 Let’s Go Fishing
· Friday, April 23 Centennial Junior Ranger Activity Book
· Saturday, April 24 JUNIOR RANGER DAY! Lewis and Clark National Historical Park Junior Ranger program guides
For this special week, one per youth present, please. Youth are welcome to pick up the books and work at their own pace. We will also feature special Junior Ranger displays throughout the park and offer a live virtual swearing in of all junior rangers on our Facebook page Saturday, April 24. Stay tuned for more info!
The park is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lewis & Clark National Park Association Bookstore will carry special Junior Ranger items. For more information, call the park at (503) 861-2471.
